Our new trio album, Blackberry Lane, is out in the world today! It feels so good to finally be able to share this music with you.
This is our second album together as Preeper Rhaye MacKay, following Wood & Wire. All three of us - Bill, Sandy and I - brought original songs to the album, so you’ll hear a little piece of each of us throughout Blackberry Lane, along with two songs that are very special to us - Every Bit of Love by our good friend, the late New Brunswick singer-songwriter Ken Tobias, and the traditional folk song Fare Thee Well (Dink’s Song).
We’ve always shared a love of folk music, and that continues to find its way into the music we make together. There are lots of three-part harmonies, acoustic and electric instruments, and some fun percussion sprinkled throughout.
We made this album with our longtime friend and collaborator Dale Murray, recording between Blackberry Studio here in New Brunswick and Dale’s Farmhouse Studio in Nova Scotia.
A big thank you to everyone who helped us bring Blackberry Lane into the world: Dale Murray, John McLaggan at Parachute Mastering, Jordan Mattie, Nicole Aline LeGault, Scout Music Group, Beth Cavanagh and Music New Brunswick.
And thank you to everyone who has been listening to our music, coming to our shows and supporting us along the way. We’re very grateful to have you along for this one.
Blackberry Lane is yours now. Enjoy!
