Singer-Songwriter Jessica Rhaye signs music publishing deal with Pangaea Music House:

Toronto, ON / Saint John, NB ñ June 1, 2007: New Brunswick singer-songwriter sensation Jessica Rhaye has entered into an agreement with Toronto based music publisher The Pangaea Music House. Pangaea head Tony Tobias and Jessica Rhayeís manager Mark Marshall (New Guy Management) arranged for the signing to take place in Saint John following Rhayeís performance at Music New Brunswick Week (May 17-20) held in St. Andrews.
The agreement has been structured as a Co-Publishing / Administration deal between Pangaea and Jessicaís own company Needham Street Publishing. Tobias comments ñ ìI have been following Jessicaís career for two years - since she began co-writing with my brother Ken Tobias who introduced us. Right from the beginning I was a believer in her talent both as songwriter and as performer. I am determined to help the rest of the world discover this artistic jewel from my native province of New Brunswick. Jessica has a solid body of work and already has two albums recorded and released including her highly praised new album Short Stories. And her live show with her band is really hot and her voice is amazing. She delivers live, what she writes and records, in spades. I am excited to be part of Jessicaís team.î
Jessica says of the deal ñ ìMy songs are my babies and I needed someone to help me look after them. Tony has a lot of experience working with songwriters and he understands the creative process so having him working with my songs so that they can reach the widest market possible makes sense. I am especially looking forward to having my songs used in films and television programs and Tony knows that world really well.î
Marshall adds: ìWith our plans coming together nicely for a U.K. tour in the Fall and with Jessica starting to get more and more gigs both in Canada, the U.S. and Europe the publishing deal with Pangaea made a lot of sense to us. We have been working with Tony for quite some time now and we are excited to have him officially on the team. This is a people deal and we are looking forward to sharing in Tonyís years of experience, his vast network and his expertise in licensing and international marketing. Jessica and I believe that this is a good fit for all of us.î
